We have included our former Desktop Application below. While there is no timetable for any future versions, we continue to look at the possibility. Intellicast will not offer any support for these downloads below, and users must use them at their discretion.


What does the Intellicast Desktop do for me?
The Intellicast Desktop Application is an innovative software program that brings radar imagery, current conditions, and severe weather alerting to your Windows desktop. Now it is easier than ever to stay ahead of changing weather conditions and keep one click away from Intellicast, The Authority in Expert Weather.

Features in version 3.0 are:
  • Expanded current conditions display (if available for the zip code entered).
  • No taskbar space consumed when the application is open.
  • Displays the current temperature in the system tray when active (if available for the zip code entered).
  • Slightly larger display area, but still the most compact display.
  • Single click of the system tray icon will open application.
  • Still Ad Free!
There are two ways to easily download the application (choose A or B):

A) Click here to begin the download process of the executable only (about 360KB). To start the application each time you start Windows, please use the following instructions:
  1. Open Windows Explorer.
  2. In the Folders list, select the folder containing the downloaded Intellicast.exe application and then highlight Intellicast.exe.
  3. Click the right mouse and select the Create Shortcut option
  4. Highlight the shortcut name and select "cut" using the right mouse button again.
  5. Using Windows Explorer, locate the Startup folder and "paste" the shortcut into the folder using the right mouse button.
Windows 95/98: The startup folder is usually C:\Windows\StartMenu\Programs\Startup or navigating in Windows Explorer, click the "+" next to My Computer, then "C:", then "Start Menu", then "Programs", then "Startup"

Windows NT: The startup folder is usually C:\Winnt\Profiles\All Users\Start Menu\Programs\Startup or navigating in Windows Explorer, click the "+" next to My Computer, then "C:", then "Winnt", then "Profiles", then "All Users", then "StartMenu", then "Programs", then "Startup"

Windows 2000:The startup folder is usually C:\Document and Settings\All Users\Start Menu\Programs\Startup or navigating in windows Explorer, click the "+" next to My Computer, then "C:", then "Document and Settings", then "All Users", then "Start Menu", then "Programs", then "Startup"

Windows ME:The startup folder is usually C:\Windows\StartMenu\Programs\Startup or navigating in Windows Explorer, click the "+" next to My Computer, then "C:", then "Start Menu", then "Programs", then "Startup"
Windows XP:The startup folder is usually C:\Document and Settings\All Users.WINDOWS\Start Menu\Programs\Startup or navigating in Windows Explorer, click the "+" next to My Computer, then "C:", then "Documents and Settings", then "All Users.WINDOWS", then "Start Menu", then "Programs", then "Startup"

B) Click here to begin the download of the application bundled with an installation program (about 5MB). This option will set up your system to start the application each time Windows starts.

We recommend that you uninstall the current version using Window's "Control Panel Add/Remove Programs" before installing the latest version.

For both A and B, save the file to disk and please make note of the directory where you placed the download.
